Katherine (Katie) Phillips

I have been passionate about teaching since childhood and recently discovered my love for working with emerging bilinguals. A native Philadelphian, I feel deeply connected to our community and its members. Linguistic and social justice are at the heart of my teaching work and I feel deeply grateful for the opportunity to delve into my own linguistic background as I critically analyze the social and power dynamics of linguistic worlds. I am pursuing both English as a second language (ESL) and Elementary Certifications and continue to be inspired by the support of my peers, teachers, and students each and every day.
