Sydnie Schwarz

Sydnie recently earned her a B.A. in sociology and anthropology from Swarthmore College, where she also minored in educational studies and Latin American & Latinx Studies. Sydnie first did research with Dr. Elaine Allard on sanctuary college campuses in the spring of 2018. In May of 2019 she began working as a field research assistant for Dr. Allard on her current research in ELL classrooms. She conducted ELL focus groups, observed classrooms, coded and analyzed data, interviewed faculty and students, and made ethnographic observations of faculty and students outside of the school setting. Sydnie graduated in May 2020 and now teaches 8th grade humanities and serves as the middle school coordinator for diversity, equity, and inclusion at the Rivers School in Weston, MA.
